From no medals to 5 medals in one day. Naturally NZ's 2 golds were won by women.Valerie won with her first throw of the evening and was never really threatened.
Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell won the Womens Double Sculls gold for the second time, sucessfully defending their Olympic title - by a single onehundreth of a second!

You may be smiling, but the girl on the left isn't. What's wrong with her. She looks about to bite someone's head off. She looks a angry as the Swede who tossed his medals down.

Hi Coffee-drinking-woman. Yes NZ women are a a fairly stroppy independant lot - we've all had the vote since 1893.
