What Next?
Today, January the twenty second*, is my birthday. To celebrate turning fortyfour I've developed Sciatica. Thankfully paracetamol is effective. What next indeed!
~~~
*hey, its the 22nd here in NZ, regardless of what day Blogger thinks it is.
Well, wouldn't want to rain on your birthday parade, but it's all down hill from here! I've got more aches and pains than I used to have. More every year! But oh well, carry on. Have a birthday drink and think about all the good things age brings. Things like respect and wisdom. Best wishes for a wonderful year to come. Priscilla
Happy Birthday...tell Mr Sciatica to go away and stay away...I'll tell you, cortisone shots definitely help! Years of wearing a Sam Brown belt is to blame for mine...haven't had an episode in a couple of years...give yourself a birthday present...Cortisone!!! Sandi
All down hill? - has been since first Crohn's disease wotsits back in 1993. Hooray for a strong, dry, maybe warped sense of humour.
Dear Deborah,
At least the new antidepressant is doing positive stuff - about 20% better than I was before it (then on prosac that worked well at first....) Now on Venlofaxine - no longer wake up with a feeling of dread.
Hope your wonderful chooks and alpacas are keeping well and warm, as are yourself and those gorgeous cats.
Dear Sandi - the joys or lack of with Crohn's disease.
Most of large intestine surgically removed back in Oct 1998. Left with a bit of sigmoid colon, the rectum and beyond.
Beyond has become a *%@%! problem. 5 lots of surgery all right, already.
After seeing dear GP Ken, realise that sitting so that the nether regions are okay = lower back not so okay. So ......
Mickle now working on stuff, including posture better to avoid the sciatica and angles for happier rear end. LOL at the bits that cause me major issues. Only much pain too at times.
Wow, Sandi - Rheumatoid Athritis. it delivers super ouches just when you think the place has calmed down, or is healing.
Super love and care, and thoughts of healing and wellness to my dear blogfriends that are hurting.
Confess am off to snugles in "our" bed with my snuggly Zebedee cat.
Secure in the incredible love i receive from my dear Parents, and dear darling Sister
Happy Birthday Mickle...sorry you got such a digusting gift; DO NOT invite that gifter back next year. Thank goodness for meds!
Today is also my hubby's birthday, counting in at 49. I've got another 6 weeks to go and then it'll be the same for me. Where was I at 44? Just diagnosed with MS (and relieved to have a name for all the craziness I was going through). Here it is 5 years later, retired/disabled, and though I've had some remissions I'm still able to get along day by day. Wish I had more PEP, though :)
Hmmm, I do suffer from some depression and read your post earlier. I couldn't take Prozac, may check into this Venlofaxine.
Enjoy snuggles with Zebby! Light hugs to you...Hope you ate your fill of cake and ice cream!
P.S. Last Post about your parents living at the White house made me laugh...yes, where will the Obamas live!!
Happy belated birthday Mickle. My mum says she feels so sorry for you with all the problems you've had but you always seem so positive, a credit to you. Mum says that 44 is a good age to be. That's how old mum is. It sounds bloody ancient to me, but there you go. I guess it's better than 54:)
Dear Matey John - Aha, I knew your birthday was looming from your blog profile - another January born Aquarian.
Dear Elizabeth - confess if I'd bought a house with "The White House" sign on it I'd be strongly tempted to leave the sign up and paint the house purple and/or green. The lush garden I've shown and will continue to feature shots of lurks around the back of their house.
Oh Henry, you're such a sweetheart. But you're very mean about your lovely Mum. Just remember who pays for your food......okay this doesn't work with Zebby - because Zeb is a cat!
Many happy returns (of the birthday, not the Sciatica...) from India.
Dear Gomad - blogger let you slip your comment in before I was even aware of it.
Still stuck in India? Super mutter muttersto you. That Caring Employer had better have you back in CH by February.
Sending gentle caring huggles to you and your dear Tono. My (older) sister is trying to assure me that 44 is an okay age - hmm, not convinced.
Happy Birthday!
I'm 47 on the 28th!
... hmmm, if only Henry could purrrr
Well 44 is not a prime number. I personally thinks prime years are the best. You'll have to wait 3 more years to celebrate the next one.
