Yes - the ever reliable radish. I can report that all parts have been used; the leaves went into soup (super thanks, dear Marjie) while the red globes are being munched upon by Mickle.
I was supervised as I pulled the radish plants - and Zebby was also demonstrating his "Sphinx pose", a sign of a happy and warm Zebby Cat.
Only that sunshine was really hot; Wellington got to 21C which is like a full-on Summer's Day here! Zebby's human was wearing a short sleeved T-shirt for the first time since March!
So back inside to the shade, and onto "his" bed to perfect his indoor Sphinx while I made the soup.
I don't think Egyptian Sphinxes had as much ample, fluffy and generous feline tummy, lol!

We almost have a garden at the back. I did plant potatoes at the front gate and they have all sprouted so we might get some around christmas although I'm thinking somewhat later :)
Skilly has become much friendlier without chainsaw around. I don't think we'll be adding another cat until she goes too - hopefully not any time soon as she is only 14!

Summer, a rapidly retreating memory here :-) Those radishes look lovely, including the leaves - do you get flea beetle in NZ. It loves the radish and the rocket leaves here so the leaves always have that well ventilated look
When did you plant these that they are ready to be eaten already?
Love radishes too! We go through a lot during rafting season.
21C?! How shocking. A veritable heat wave!
I love radishes.
Think of us in Bristol. As I write this evening, a storm blows, rattling the windows and slashing rain into them with fury.
It is very cold.
My rabbits are in a cosy room with a blanket round the outside of their run, snuggled together. Spoilt...... like Zebcat!
Wow, they look fantastic. It is also very wet and windy in London so it's very nice to see someone somewhere is getting the beginnings of summer! Lxxx
Ps I have knitted 22 whole rows of my first ever knitted cardigan!
Great radishes, well done :)
Didn't know the leaves were edible, I'll use them next time I plant some ;)
Nice looking crop! And of course Zebby Cat :)
Great looking radishes Michelle! You did good. They look like they are full of yummy flavor. What kind of soup did you put the leaves into?
Zebby, sweet Zebby....I could imagine his purr rumbling through the air as he lay in the sun.
Have a blessed day.
Your radishes look delicious....mmmm...salad days are really coming on now, aren't they? Not that Zebby will enjoy that much - I'm sure he prefers cheap lamb season!
Love the sphinx poses, and yes, that soft, furry tum looks very cuddleable :-)
I love radish!
I love radishes but, after my four day hospital stay for a bowel infection by campylobacter, I am now on the most restrictive diet for the next thirty days when I'll have a colonscopy to be sure there is nothing more serious going on in my colon. This has been a tough year for me medically!
I'm so glad you loved the radish green soup as much as we did! And Zebby looks so contented in his Sphinx pose, and obviously highly intelligent!
Huggles - do enjoy your summery weather. It's been warm here, relatively (50 during the day), but I know it will be colder any day now.
Marjie and Thor xxx
its summertime for you now isnt it - wow what lovely radish
Hello Mickle
I'm a radish lover too - have never grown them tho. They say they are dead easy, a real cert but somehow I never get round to it
That Puss of yours seems to be growing - true or untrue - or is it that we haven't seen him out from under the covers for a while??
Take care
Cathy
we're harvesting radish along with spinach too - yours look great, these are the kind we are growing too
things are looking bright in wellington!
