Christchurch shaken up again

Today poor Christchurch was rocked by two big after shocks - a 5.5 at 1.00pm and a 6.0 at 2.20pm.

So, once more the schools are closed, the sewerage system is out and everyone needs to boil their water before use. The lines staff have been busy however at least 20,000 homes are still without power.

All is fine here in Wellington - but poor Christchurch, when will it end?

Update: The second quake measured 6.3, the same as the 22 February one.

so glad to hear you are far enough away to have been spared. Thinking of those who were not.

I was so sorry to read about this on the BBC website, Mickle. Christchurch has had a hard time of it this year.

We felt those but they were very insignificant here - however we always worry about Christchurch now as it usually means something rather large up there.

I saw the notice in my paper, thought happily that you and darling Zebby are safe, and said a quick prayer for the safety of your relatives in Christchurch. Huggles to you and Zebby, and hope you're enjoying the cooler winter weather!

It must be a terrifying thing and its close enough to you to be worried and I hope that no one was killed.
Hoping thats the last of it.
