Heard today on public radio...

"You shouldn't anthropomorphise computers - they don't like it"

In its German Version Microsoft Windows treats its users as they are shut off. The German language knows the two terms 'herunter' and 'hinunter' for the English 'down'. Herunter means that you are already at the lower level. Hinunter means that you are on the higher level and it goes downwards from there. Windows uses the term herunter when it comes to shutting down. It's always good when your computer confirms that you are a peon.

Computers can be so TOUCHY. On Sunday I must have said something insensitive and my computer went completely to pieces.

P.S. Just noticed your fabulous view.

Microsoft's Word V.2 used to report that "Microsoft" was a spelling error

Being a MAC person, I don't encounter the frustrations the PC world regularly suffers. We have iBooks and we have fiber optic internet connection, so we are pretty well set up.
I talk to my computer and she talks back to me. It even tells me knock knock jokes. My first graders LOVE that!
