Luckily I checked again ...

... on the washing machine as the service person was due this morning. Wouldn't you know it - the darned machine is working again. A hasty phone call to cancel the callout ($99.00 saved) and I then caught up on the washing.

A gloriously fine day -light wind and wall-to-wall sunshine - so all is dry and put away.

My threats to replace the dratted machine with a new front loader must have worked!

Dearest Michelle,

I still can't find your email midst all the others! Did you send it to rnsane@prodigy.net? I do, indeed, want to have yours!

Glad you saved yourself a visit from the washer repairman/woman. Perhaps Zebby got to the controls!!!

xxxooo,

Carmen

I have always hated it when I had to buy a new appliance (albeit infrequently), but I did love the front-loader when I had one. If you do get one, be sure to get a pedestal for it to sit on, so the door will be up high enough to save your back.

Many thanks, dear Mary. The top loader responded well to the threat!

Arghhhh! Gremlins in the machines!

Now - what to do with that saved money??

Maybe there was a short in the electricity. Hopefully, all will work smoothly now. :D

Must have been an attack of the Gremlins...you know, you shouldn't feed them after midnight! Hope it all stays working, if not...well, front loaders are all the rage these days!

Good news! I love when that happens.

I've been known to threaten to replace things so they will be frightened into working. (Sometimes I have to threaten to make Patrick live in the garage to make him work.) See? Washers can be tamed!

I DO believe that threatening a machine with immediate dismissal can have a good effect of balkiness. Remember to never mention in the presence of ANY appliance (especially while driving in the car) that you may have some extra cash (I know, a rarity these days!)...because they will suddenly have a sudden spasm that needs to be attended to, by an expensive repairman. That washer is not off the hook yet, so don't treat it especially nicely yet!!
