Postscript, Wednesday, 25th November 2009: Washing machine repair person due today. Said machine is under threat - if too dodgy and repairs to be expensive Mickle will move from a history of top loaders to buying a new Whirlpool front loader.
And my Salad Spinner will get to relax again, between the green leaves.

Aims - dryer fine, it is the washing machine that is under threat.
Mary - when you have washed clothing and that pesky machine wont do the spin cycle, then after some hand wringing, Yes.
Urs - so recognised the reference, you had me laughing out loud, dear friend! No need for me to flash a leg, lol.
So far, we've been lucky, and our washing machine repairs have been minor. Last time, I did feel sheepish, when he found an underwire stuck in the mechanism.
