It is kind of noisy in Wellington tonight as people all around let off fireworks for Guy Fawkes night. And very soon it will be very noisy - the public display is due to start at 9.00pm, in about 9m min utes time. I can't see it from my place but I sure can hear it.
In past years I'd wander up the street a bit to watch it all, but these days I stay here with Zebbycat to ensure he isn't frightened. Yes Zeb is well and truely shut in for the night.
(Postscript: The wonders of a tummy rub! The lad happily purred away for the 20 minutes of bangs and booms that almost shook the ground. Still lying down, he is contently washing his face. Yes, of course I am a complete pussycat-pushover)

Guy Fawkes

It all went bang, many times. This is a shot of the public display here in Wellington Harbour. There is a great view from the posh part of my street. Being a responsible cat owner I stayed home as Zebby-cat is scared by loud noises. Only when it all started Zeb was snuggled up beside me, sound asleep and snoring. He didn't even notice the enormous booms!
