have just heard on a radio news report some info that backs up my previous post. En Zed's Rural Fire Service has an agreement with Aussie equivalent. And right now there are 60 En Zed RFFs ready to go at short notice to Aus, should the Aussie bods want help.
In the past our Fire Fighters have gone to provide relief, decent breaks for Aussies own firefighting crews.
Please do not assume that the downunder firefighters are all Blokes - Women work as firefighters too.
Yes, bush fires happen most years in Aussie, and in NZ, only this time the heat wave over in Aussie is very extreme.
So spare them all a thought at least........ and I find am very uncomfortable in 19 degrees C at 2.18 am (on Sunday the Oneth of February).
The Rural Fire Service herre deal with the bush, scrub, farm land and forest type fires, even within a city. Have a look at the photo in my header - if this bush went up in flames the Rural Service would run things, even if they used the NZ Fire Service fire fighters.
What ever climate and seasonal conditions you are in, please take care, please.
