Lacking inspiration - mid Winter here m'dears - in a Winter of grayness and gloomy skies.
Our Winter arrived a month early, i.e. with effect from May. And is cooler than usual.
Wellywood/Wellington is normally a very windy place. In Winter I expect to get several Gale Force stormy type days a week. But Nope.... gray, grey, gray and boring calm.
Sunday there may be gale force southerlies (cold, cold super windy stuff) - but I'm yet to be convinced.
Mickle will liven up soon - I've foodie stuff including umpty something variations on a Summer Yummo dessert recipe to post.
Just need to locate the CD the photo is on ..........
Even Zebster fed up with it all - snuggles up to me overnight, and quick does quick loo, water and tummy-top-up times. Otherwise snoozles and (like now) loud sound asleep snoring on the bed. Coo - Winter doesn't end until August is done.
On the plus side my grape hyacinth plants, which currently look like overly luschious chives, have wee flower buds emerging. I'm keeping an eye on the huge magnolia tree down in the Botanic Gardens (they're at the bottom of the hill/mini mountain side I live on) because it will soon put out great big pink flowers. This tree flowers first of all the magnolias down in the "bot gardens".
Scrubbed out the bird bath, and the native birds are appreciating it along with the resident bloke blackbird.
So things may be getting better?

Winter goes away always...eventually :)
Go skiing! Propz Pilgrim
Good morning Michelle,
Here in Sth. Oz. the birds are starting to build nests and the jonquils are blooming, a sure sign that spring is on the way.
Stay warm. It wont be long before we are complaining about the heat !
Cheers to you, and Prrrrrrrrh to Zeb
Thanks KB, I'll dream of Corfu for you.
Pilgrim - doesn't snow in Wellington. The nearest ski slopes are on an active volcano. Confess I've never been skiing.
Joy, we seldom get to complain about the heat in Wellington - a very hot Summer's day is 27C, usually sits around 20-22.
Tonight I'm warming myself up with a homemade cottage pie and lovely fresh green beans from Aussie!
(Zeb's gone back to bed)
I so hope that CD is not lost. Otherwise you'll just have to paint the dessert.
Don't worry, it's allegedly summer in London and it CHUCKED it down last night...mind you at least everything looks green again, it was all getting a bit brown and parched after the mini heatwave 10 days ago Lxx
Trouble is..... as you winter is ending, then ours will be on its way & we haven't had a summer yet so I'm not mentioning it!
Lets enjoy NOW!
Put your hats on you & Zebbie cat & go for a nice crisp walk!
I remember that time of year. I hope the gloom of winter soon passes.
Thanks for your kind words on my blog.
