If only I could rememmber the rest of the words... Got it! thanks to the internet and google:::
Dear Priscilla, found the lyrics thank to google other stuff.

It will and does happen

Don?t know why
There?s no sun up in the sky
Stormy weather
Since my man and I ain?t together
Keeps raining all of the time

Oh yeah
Life is bare
Gloom and misery everywhere
Stormy weather, stormy weather
And I just can't get my poor self together
Oh I?m weary all of the time
The time, so weary all of the time

When he went away
The blues walked in and met me
Oh yeah if he stays away
Old rocking chair's gonna get me
All I do is pray
The Lord will let me
Walk in the sun once more

Oh I can't go on, can't go on, can't go on
Everything I have is gone
Stormy weather, stormy weather
Since my man and I, me and my daddy ain?t together
Keeps raining all of the time
Oh, oh, keeps raining all of the time
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah raining all of the time
Stormy stormy
Stormy weather

They remind me of a children's series called the Clangers...which had symbols like those for musical notes. :)

I think it means...... don't forget to put your curlers in!

I thinks this calls for a strong hairspray.

They look like variations on the koru, do they mean strong winds?

"Rewallpaper your kitchen in paisley. This is a requirement of the New Zealand Met Weather Service."

Lovely stuff folks.

In reality = Gale Force Wind.

Oh, yay, sure sign of Springtime and 5 clothes peg (pin) days (takes 5 pegs to secure a bathtowel on the clothes line)

Are you trying to say those squiggly things are what pass for clothes pegs in Wellington these days. Blimey, I bet they're expensive!

Okay, I now know what I want to do if I ever return to the workforce! I want the job where you doodle and design the icons for the weather channel!

Liz - nice one - I use Pink Pegs, bright shocking pink and very hardy. Am preparing for the Folks invasion on Saturday while Zeb snores. Hope they don't get blown away........ N.B. Herself now has a hearing aid in each ear!!! HOORAY - and I told her so! Dad will no longer be blasted by the TV volume.

Paula - the tv weather shows wind socks (like at an airport) for gale force stuff. This current lot is just the beginning, we'll be blasted right through to December - at least means no air pollution!
