Here are some more of my "loathe" foods:

Which foods and flavours do you go out of your way to avoid?
(*Both my parents have the whiskey gene, unfortunately they only passed it on to my sister. I missed it completely!)

Oh Mickle, I love fresh coriander. I don't like caraway seeds, whiskey smells and tastes like smoke to me, not a fan of tripe (just the smell is enough), or kidneys, the smell of sour milk, it makes me want to heave, (but then I love cheese and yoghurt, which is sort of sour milk) I put that down to having to drink milk all those years ago at primary school. I don't like alfala sprouts either, taste like slime (or what I think slime would taste like).
I just missed the compulsory school milk. My primary school opened in 1967, 3 years before I started. The purpose built concrete "bunker" to store the milk was then used for Phys Ed equipment!
Polly likes whiskey, but it tastes like burnt cork to me. I prefer gin or rum for hard liquor (on the rare occasion when I have a it). I hate onions. I'm not too fond of garlic, a little goes a LONG way. I don't like wintergreen, or cinnamon. I don't like beets, or rutabaga (swede) - the taste permeates anything they're in. Yuck. I don't know why, but lately, here in the US, people are using black pepper in every dish they cook. All food is beginning to taste the same. I rarely use black pepper. I use a variety of herbs and spices.
I like pretty much everything else. I guess that makes me a picky eater, but if that were so, wouldn't I be more svelte?
Mick, do you like parsley? I'll send you a picture (via e-mail) of my herbs, which are coming along nicely. We had such a cool spring that everything is a little late.
Let's see - unfortunately, there aren't many - at least ones that I'd come in contact with often.
Peanut butter, coconut (in any form, including cosmetics), calf liver (chicken livers OK), bell pepper (green, red, or yellow). Don't drink alcohol at all any more (allergy), but didn't like scotch whiskey.
Hate, tripe, peppers, peanut butter and curry!
Allergic to peppers of any sort, love most fruits, hate offal and most foods which are not somewhat bland. I also have an astonishing sweet tooth, which I try to control, and so I avoid alcohol, which has extra calories. I don't like whiskey anyway.
No whiskey for me - gluten based.
Hmmmm - lima beans I could do without but will eat them if I have to.
Squid - is on that list too - but I won't ever eat it!
noodles - I really don't like noodles and not because of the gluten but because of the texture. Shell noodles can literally make me gag.
And animal fat. I hate any fat in my meat. Ick!!!!
coriander and whiskey - yuk
but all the rest, well, i wouldn't be a good cretan if i didnt like them!
Offal, as fish, was part of my daily diet as a kid, so I don't mind it (even if I don't particulary love it). I rarely touch hard liquor, and I'm not too keen on whisky, but it's okay in an Irish Coffee (smile). I LOVE anchovies, seafood and virtually all vegetables, meat (so long as it's not raw) and fruit. Truth be told, I can eat just about anything, and I'm hard pressed to come up with anything I actually don't like!
I have a problem with olives. I like the flavour they give to food, but I don't like eating them directly. So I can never tell whether I like them or not.
I read this after I read your post on potatoes. I forgot that one of my favourite foods is blue cheese. I know it's not really blue but it's the blue bits which puts most people off.
The only food I won't eat is tripe and that's because I won't even try it. When I was a child the look of it in the shop revolted me. Fortunately we never had it.
No one has mentioned Marmite! By that I really mean UK Marmite (My Mate in NZ). I LOVE it.
As I live part of my year in Scotland I hope you won't mind if I point out the Scotch is Whisky without and 'e'. Irish is Whiskey. I can, of course understand people not liking Whiskey! Don't tell anyone but I don't like Scotch either.

Oops. Evidence of my terrible memory. I copied your list over and then forgot to delete it.
Hi Mickle,
I'm very strange regarding meat. I'm happy with chicken, turkey, game but hate lamb. Beef - I don't like roast beef but have it in casseroles and curries no problem!
I love eating but can be very conservative some times. I don't understand my own eating tastes!!!
