The yarn for the charcoal grey scarf is a mix of merino and possum fur, very soft and beautiful to knit. I gave dear Mum a skein of this last year, saying "I'll knit whatever you want". Mum chose to have a scarf and I found just the right pattern on Ravelry - lacy parts and solid parts, the pattern is fun to knit.
And there is no fear of me running out of projects - here is the yarn stash:
At last I finished my first ever sock this week.
The 2nd sock is already 40 rows long.
And I've finally joined the 21st century by getting Sky digital tv installed.
With the cooler weather Zebby is spending more time under his battered quilt. Fine by me - it means he isn't paw/clawing at the knitting projects (only at me in the mornings). His purring quotient is still at a super high level, so welcome during my insomnia moments in the wee small hours of the morning.
Postscript: The bear on top of the TV, Alphonse, is fully jointed, and he is made from a possum fur pelt. To the right are two patchwork "chooks*", made by my dear Mum - with Mickle finishing up the beaded eyes and other hand sewing parts.
*chooks = chickens of any type, age and/or gender. A common term in NZ, Aussie and, I believe, parts of Scotland.

OOOOooooo! The possum yarn is SO soft. Lucky Mom! And the pattern is lovely, too.
But you have a tiny little stash. I don't think I could get all of mine in one picture. I'm sure you'll get better at it though. LOL.
Re your dropped stitch. Everybody's done that, of course. When I find one way back, and don't feel like tearing out, I just pull the stitch to the inside, put a thread through it to hold it, and fasten it off. You'll be the only one who knows it's there. 8^)
Happy knitting!
Dear Mary, dropped stitch fixed with the help of a crochet hook. And then I realised I was on the last knitting row of the sock! 2nd sock progressing fast on 2 circular needles. Kind of weird looking while in progress - you should have seen Zebbycat's face when he came across it!
Zebbycat's face equalled a true Dr Who moment.
And, now I have all the NZ digital stations, I can see the new Dr Who programmes. Unlike the early 1960s and 1970s Dr Who episodes, these days I'm not hiding behind a cushion, peeking over the top when I was brave.
In the late 1980s Dad and Mickle would hurry home from work to watch the 5.30pm rerun of 1970s Dr Who!
Here and I thought the carrier was just for the protection of the wool! Zebbycat would really enjoy having his own ball of yarn to bat around, when he's not snuggled under his quilt, singing to you. Dear Mom will love her new scarf!
Love the look of the yarn Mick! I've never knitted with anything that has possum fur in it. But I do have a reversible possum fur jacket that has to be 20 years old and still looks like new. Very warm with the possum on the inside - I could have worn it the other day!
I've never seen Dr. Who - we don't get it here that I know of - of course we don't have tv so what do I know.
Love your bear!! Oh my he's a cutie! And what are those beautiful objects sitting beside him that are all soft colours and an odd shape?
Possum and merino mix is so lovely to touch, Mum has knitted us a couple of things it.
The sound of a cat purring is quite soothing late at night don't you think?
Dr Who is faithfully recorded every Sunday night, this new Dr is shaping up well.
I knew you Kiwis would find a use for the possums we gave you. LOL
Those here who are the full on hunting, shooting and fishing "wild food types" swear by Possum Stew - I'd rather swear at it!!!
Dear Aussies - you're welcome to have all the 70 million plus* of the little wotsits that reside here back, anytime!
(*Yep - at least 3 times the NZ sheep count)
What a wonderful idea putting your wool in the cat carrier! Brilliant idea. Might have to do something like that to keep things rabbit proof!
Boiling hot day, here. Don't want to rub it in about your winter!
Love your sock!
Word ver. is HEADOPMAT..... sounds like something that Zeb cat would like to lie on!

My goodness, it looks like you have enough yarn to keep you busy for the next fifty years. Can you knit and watch t.v. at the same time? Or does it require intense concentration? I used to do a lot of crewel and cross stitch. Back when I was married and was a passenger in the car, I was never without it. But since I'm the driver all the time now, I never do it. I still have dozens of unfinished proects!
