Those *@&# Plastic Horns!

They sound like an angry swarm of tone deaf bees.

Massed Pipe Bands with the Pipers only playing the drone would sound better.
A Pipe Band paying any tune would be a huge relief.

The New Zealand team, the All Whites, have just thwarted and frustrated Paraguay to a scoreless draw. Sadly this wont see us through to the next round, but it does have us third in our pool group where the defending cup champions, Italy, finished last. Our lads can come home feeling very proud of what they accomplished - unbeaten, and now free from the sound of those bloody horns!

Thor heard the horns on the news, and he howled at the TV. Now, from a guy of very few words, that's a sign of great annoyance indeed!

Those horns are a bit much, aren't they?
England got through the night before last. Don't know how much further they will go.

They really are terrible. I have given up watching the football as I cannot stand the sound anymore. I am sure that there are going to be many deaf people soon. Thank goodness they banned them at Wimbledon, can you imagine...... Diane

The All Whites did very well indeed, better than Australia I think.

I *loathe* those plastic horns.

But as a new Kiwi, I'm soooooo proud of the All Whites!

Yes, the horns are awful!
But my comment is really on your previous post -- what wonderful pictures of your city. Beautiful!

Hello there
I think I finally managed to persuade the man he didn't need the sound on, well I think I persuaded him - he wasn't too enthused when I said there was no commentary if you were actually at the game, mybe someone needs to tell me the difference as to me its the same game being played even if the sound is on mute. I have heard it on low now and again so maybe I wasn't convincing enough lol
As Pip said - The All Whites certainly did better than the Aussies.
Michelle, apart form the relief of not having to climb all those steps what would make you consider moving away from those glorious views? Thanks for the email, lovely to hear from you
Take care
Cathy

Cass - so lovely to "hear" from you, and am so happy that your dear Dad got to sample the first tomatoes.

Cathy - my dear Dad watches cricket on TV with the sound turned off. In past he would have the radio commentary on instead, but not so much now it has commercials. I'll be able to watch the cricket again now I have digital pay-to-view tv - it is an excellent sport for knitters, lol!

I have heard that they are going to ban them at other events - a very good idea.

What a cruel thing to make and then blast at some of the world's best athletes - simply for distraction.

I imagine they could slide those horns in one ear of the (horn players) and they would come right out the other side.

I know where they'd be shoved!
