Gale force winds......

... with horizontal rain and sleet - it must be a Wellington winter's day. Just the evening for comforting and delicious home made leek and potato soup.

Having filled and warmed myself up, I moved onto roasted tomatoes (I only had little ones) ...

...topped with garlic, anchovies and fresh mozzarella. Back in the oven then served with a sprinkling of chopped chives and some good bread to mop up all the juices.

After a happy 2 hours of heat bathing in front of the big heater Zebby moved to under his "quilt" again for more happy time - snoozing, purring, washing, purring some more and then a good, sound and snorey sleep.

Michelle and Zebby your weather sounds very unpleasant, but as long as you have a warm spot to curl up in then I presume all is OK with the world. I love potato and leek soup and the roast tomatoes with anchovies sounds pretty good. Have a good weekend. Diane

Hot soup and a hot heater the best way to enjoy a wintry, Wellington day. Yum, all those yummy juices ready to mop up with bread.

Oh that looks wonderful! I believe you sent me that recipe didn't you when I was telling you we had that on the river - but it came out of a bag. Not freshly made.

I believe we need a Mickle here during the summer to make homemade soups for our summer guests.

What do you think?? :0)
